CityMaps2Go – Offline Maps App Reviews

While walking through different cities in Italy it was great to be able to use these maps even while in airplane mode and no wifi. We used the maps several times and were very pleased with the detail and ease of use. Will highly recommend this to friends!

Helps with saving money.

Good app

City maps was clutch on a recent trip in India and Nepal! GPS function worked deep in the Himalayas. The download function and access to hotel information is a great feature. The only disadvantage is the in ability to zoom out of a location. Terrain feature would be nice too.

Ive used these maps in multiple cities throughout Asia while travel. Super helpful - I can make pins for all our locations (hotels, restaurants, tourist spots) and then I can easily navigate on the move despite not having Internet while out and about.

Okay - I highly recommend these maps. Traveled to Italy and did not have any problems locating every place I needed. Will continue to use it in my other travels.

I travel not only around the United States, but internationally as well. This app was a lifesaver for me. You can download detailed maps of the city, and customize what kinds of places show up on the map (restaurants, bars, shopping, museums, etc). Once the city map is downloaded, you obviously do not need to worry about a wifi signal or being in a network. In addition, the GPS will show you where you are on the map and update continuously as you walk. I was able to wander the streets of Sevilla without any cell phone service, yet always know where I was and never get list thanks to this app. Absolutely essential for the traveler.

I loved this app! It would show me where I was on the map without using data. Being in country that doesnt speak your native language just got easier. Never once did we have to ask for directions. Wonderful app that made our trip so easy. Download the map before you go. Then turn on airplane mode and enjoy!

Much better than Apple maps. It knows where you are at all times. Apple map GPS gets confused. This mapping protocol is much better. Only drawback is getting it to plot your course.

Tons of information buried in the travel links, quick easy to digest articles, and most of it free!

Worthless like the original version, not enough details, there are no street names or details

Doesnt find as much as google maps can but it is nice to always have a map downloaded available

I like to go off on my own without guides so this works perfectly for me.

I love this app. Its perfect for the traveler. Yes, you have to pay for map downloads but thats pocket change compared to what youd pay for Lonely Planet Guides for even one place you want to travel to. Yes the maps take up various mb of space on your device but you can upload only the maps you want. I advise loading the articles as well. The city maps when reduced, will show quartiers (neighborhoods) which is valuable when taking a taxi. Once on the map you can search for restaurants, lodging, tours/activities and even grocery stores and other important places. Did I say, I love this app? I love the ability to pin my own points and categorize them. Im not sure if its possible, but can you arrange the pins alphabetically and/or by map? If it messes with the quality of the app then please dont change anything.

Love this app. Used it for dozens of cities and countries and it never fails me.

I recommend this app to all of my traveling and expat buddies. This app is amazing for so many reasons, but one of the biggest reasons is that you DONT NEED DATA TO USE IT. So useful in countries where you couldnt be bothered with buying a SIM card.
